HISTORY brief
Greenacres Tennis Club has a history dating back to the summer of 1961/62 when the club was formed by Mr Colin Beames. On nothing more than a dirt "pitch" Colin would line mark a court for matches to be played on each week. In desolate surroundings with Greenacres only a new suburb with a few scattered houses it was a far cry to what we have now.
With only a small brush enclosure, nothing more than a wind break for players they did it tough. The club house was not built until 1967 and while it has seen better days it is still the home of the Greenacres Tennis Club. More commonly known in recent years as the Home of the Dragons or the Den.
Like all clubs, Greenacres has experienced its ups and downs and was under severe threat of closure by 2016 despite having shown some growth. This sparked a major overhaul of the club and we went above and beyond mere survival.

The club has gone from strength to strength as its dedicated members embrace an inclusive and diverse culture unique to Greenacres. We are not afraid to be different, we are not afraid of change.

The major turnaround and recent success of the club has not gone unnoticed and we have received many recommendations and endorsements.
